Miami, FL, (January 17, 2020) – A high-level tourism delegation from the Anhui Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism under the auspices of Deputy Director General Mr. Ding Guangqing, joined by Mr. Yang Long, Director of Market Management and Mr.Hu Zhinong, Director of Ma’anshan Culture and Tourism Bureau of Anhui Province visited Southern Florida the week of January 14th.
The visit included a meeting at the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Hotel on Biscayne Bay to update the local travel trade on Anhui Tourism’s new product for the North American market. A secondary purpose was to conduct two-way dialogue with the travel trade and local tourism leaders on product development trends and cross-border international marketing.
Over twenty Miami based tourism professionals attended the meeting, including representatives from the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, Protravel International, Travel Leaders, Nexion, Virtuoso, Westchester Travel and trip.com. The session was moderated by Paul Cohen, Partner, International Experiences.
Anhui’s Deputy Director General Ding Guangqing provided the product update which showcased images and video highlights featuring Mount Huangshan, various historic and cultural attractions including the birthplace of legendary Philosopher Laozi, Hui style architecture and new product for the educational Market. Mr. Hu Zhinong, Director of the Ma’anshan Culture and Tourism Bureau of Anhui Province also introduced the new tourism product available in Ma ‘anshan City.
The delegation from Anhui Province visited the offices of the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau on January 16th to promote cultural tourism exchanges and cooperation between the two sides. Rolando Aedo, Chief Operating Officer and Gisela Marti, Vice President, Marketing & Tourism welcomed the delegation, engaged in productive conversation and exchanged gifts as a gesture of ongoing relations.
The event was organized by Global Child and included the host Augusto Valverde of Amazon Prime’s Global Child “Travel with Purpose”. They showcased their content to the Anhui Representatives and Miami Tourism Representatives. They discussed the importance of filming content about Anhui for the international community to experience the destination and culture first-hand as well as distribution of the travel product to global audiences in English and Spanish.
